The current $1 per gallon tax incentive for biodiesel production has boosted biodiesel production by 69% in 2011, according to a new study sponsored by the National Biodiesel Board.

The Congress let the biodiesel tax credit lapse in December 2009 and the study points out the lack had a "significant negative impact" on the biodiesel industry as well as the overall economy in 2010.
