Feds cancel plans for immigration office in Cary

The federal government has canceled a proposal to open an immigration enforcement office in a vacant grocery store near a suburban neighborhood. The abrupt announcement Tuesday follows weeks of worry and protest among residents, town leaders - even members of Congress - who said such an office wouldn't jibe with its surroundings.
