Police in Duplin County, N.C., are investigating bomb threats to two House of Raeford chicken processing plants, local media reported.

The plants in Rose Hill and Wallace, N.C., have been receiving repeated telephone calls — as many as four in one day, WCTI-12 reported — in which the callers say “a bomb is at House of Raeford.”

House of Raeford officials could not be reached for comment. The company told local reporters its protocol has been to evacuate everyone in the plants, causing production delays as long as two hours and forcing workers to wait in extreme heat.

The Duplin County Sheriff’s Office told local reporters the threats began in June. The Federal Bureau of Investigation and State Bureau of Investigation are helping in the investigation.
