The U.S. Poultry & Egg Association announced today the release of a new video that gives consumers a behind-the-scenes look at how chickens and turkeys are produced.

The video addresses areas such as sanitation practices, vaccination techniques, poultry diets, poultry litter management, the safeguarding of natural resources and the sustainability of the modern poultry industry.

Among the popular myths the video dispels is the notion that producers feed hormones to chickens and turkeys. Meanwhile, it showcases the 40,000-plus family farmers who care for the animals.

“Producing poultry for consumption is modern agriculture at its best, and addresses the world demand for food which is safe and affordable,” USPOULTRY said in a news release. “The poultry industry is proud to provide one of the safest and healthiest food options available to consumers, and invites everyone to take a peek behind America’s dynamic poultry industry.”
