WASHINGTON - On Thursday, July 28, Healthcare and Technology Chairwoman Renee Ellmers will hold a hearing entitled, Small Businesses and PPACA: If They Like Their Coverage, Can They Keep It?

President Obama frequently said that if you like your health insurance you can keep it, however, recent reports suggest that this may not be the case. The Subcommittee will consider whether small firms will be able to maintain their existing coverage under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).

The Committee will hear testimony from Steven B. Larsen, Deputy Administrator and Director at the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in Washington, DC; Douglas Holtz-Eakin, President of the American Action Forum in Washington, DC; William Dennis, Jr., Senior Research Fellow at the National Federation of Independent Business in Washington, DC; Brian Vaughn, President of Nearly Famous, Inc. in Douglas, GA and testifying on behalf of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce; and Timothy Stoltzfus Jost, Robert Willett Family Professor of Law, Washington and Lee University College of Law in Lexington, VA.
