A major poultry producer in North Carolina appears set to reduce or close operations in Mocksville and Siler City, the mayor of Siler City said Thursday. How many jobs will be lost and which plants will be affected may be made known today, after an announcement by Omtron Ltd., the new owner of Townsends' North Carolina operations, Davie County economic officials said.
