Redistricting fight focuses on ‘majority-minority' districts

State lawmakers edged closer to completing their work on three new redistricting plans that would put new political maps in place for the 2012 elections. By night’s end Wednesday, Republican-backed plans to redraw the state’s 13 congressional districts along with the 50 state Senate and 120 state House districts were etched into law.
