In six full seasons, America's Heartland reporters and crews have brought in stories from all across our great nation. We’ve completed 128 half-hour episodes that take you to all 50 states, as well as faraway places like Taiwan, China, Egypt and Morocco.  We’ve toured the White House Garden with Michelle Obama, and hit the dusty trail on a three-day Utah cattle drive.  Throughout our journeys, we’ve heard American farmers and ranchers share their passion for hard work and excellent products, as well as their commitment to food safety, sustainability, environmental stewardship and animal welfare.

Back in 2005, we opened our first episode with the line "America's heartland is more than a place; it's a state of mind." More than 700 stories later, it's still true. Providing food, fuel and fiber for America and the world is an act of passion on the part of our farmers and ranchers big or small, mainstream or specialized. In our new season 7, you'll learn even more about how our ag producers provide us their rich bounty.   Celebrity chef Dave Lieberman (Farm to Fork) visits family farms to harvest unique crops and prepare delicious recipes right in the kitchen. We’ve included special features about the history of familiar food products (Harvesting Knowledge), nutrition surprises (Fast Facts About Food), information about items found right in the grocery store (Off the Shelf), and new opportunities for viewers to go “to the source” with their ag questions (Ask a Farmer).   Season 7, slated to air the week of Sept. 5, will also feature specially-themed episodes highlighting the music, art and stunning landscapes found only in the Heartland.  Of course, all of our episodes are in High Definition.

America’s Heartland is a magazine-style, half-hour series produced by KVIE, Sacramento. Sponsors are the United Soybean Board, Farm Credit, and the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture. The series is a national evolution of California Heartland, a popular and critically acclaimed series KVIE produced for nine years.
