South Korea said Tuesday it will impose zero tariffs on all imports of pork for processing through Sept. 30 as the government tries to curb inflation amid the country’s recovery from a recent foot-and-mouth outbreak, according to a report by Reuters.

Seoul had said it would allow a total 260,000 metric tons of frozen and chilled pork to enter tariff-free this year. Imports exceeding that amount are subject to a tariff of 22.5 percent, Reuters reported, citing the government’s finance ministry.

South Korea imported 4,500 metric tons of chilled pork for food processing, the finance ministry said.
