The Cattlemen’s Beef Board has elected a new chairman, vice chairman and secretary treasurer in the aftermath of its CEO and chairman resigning in June.

The board voted unanimously to elect Wesley Grau of New Mexico to finish out the year as chairman of the national board.
Former Chairman Tom Jones resigned weeks after he was asked to apologize for being aware that CEO Tom Ramey, who also resigned, listened to the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association conference calls unannounced and failing to direct him not to do so.

Grau, a partner in Grau Charolais Farm and Ranch, was formerly vice chairman of the board and had been acting chairman since Jones resigned a month ago.

The board elected Weldon Wynn, who owns Wynn Beefmaster Farms and Wynn Rice and Soybean Farm in Arkansas, vice chairman. It elected Roger West, a retired meat-sciences professor at the University of Florida, as secretary-treasurer.
