A new study has concluded that the U.S. cow-calf and dairy segments have improved economically since Washington expanded the Renewable Fuel Standard in 2007.
The study, conducted by Texas A&M University and Doan Advisory Services, found that net profits at representative beef-cow and dairy farms have risen since the implementation of the policy.
Opponents have blamed that policy for rising corn and general food costs.
