Virginia's Washington County receives disaster area designation

On August 2, the Virginia Department of Agriculture received word that the U.S. Department of Agriculture has designated Washington County as a primary disaster area, due to damage and losses caused by severe storms with high winds, hail and tornadoes that occurred in the county on April 27 and 28, 2011.
