For growers like Dale Lamb, the importance of the North Carolina Apple Festival goes far beyond a chance for a good, tasty time downtown during a long Labor Day weekend. The event marks the seasonal kickoff of an industry with annual revenues in Henderson County of some $22 million, and it gets folks thinking about ways the tasty fruit can be enjoyed.
