U.S. Senator Kay R. Hagan (NC) today congratulated the five North Carolina cities ranked in Businessweek.com’s inaugural list of “America’s Best 50 Cities.” Businessweek ranked Raleigh as the best city in America, while Charlotte came in at #20, Greensboro at #31, Durham at #37 and Winston-Salem at #46.

“From the mountains to the coast, North Carolina is the best place to live in America,” Hagan said. “As the Businessweek rankings demonstrate, our cities are thriving, vibrant places to live, visit, do business, and get a first-class education. This comes as no surprise to anyone who lives in North Carolina. Our great state takes pride in staying ahead of the curve, and our cities are well prepared to become leaders in the 21st century economy.”
