Sweet Potato Festival to go on despite damage to facilities

While trying to heal from a tornado April 16, Hurricane Irene struck Eastern North Carolina just four months later — and the effects of the natural disasters can still be felt in Greene County. Despite the obstacles they posed, Snow Hill’s fourth annual Sweet Potato Festival is still on track to be held Oct. 27-29.
