The Healthcare Leadership Council (HLC), a coalition of leaders of the nation’s premier health care companies and organizations, today honored Congressman Howard Coble as a “Champion of Healthcare Innovation” at an award ceremony in Washington, DC.

Congressman Coble was honored at the Council’s annual Healthcare Innovations Expo on Capitol Hill. The day-long event is dedicated to showcasing new developments in health care technologies, treatments and practices. This year’s event featured, among other displays, advances in lifesaving and life-enhancing pharmaceutical therapies and medical devices, new breakthroughs in health information technology, and even high-tech tools being used to ensure the safety of the nation’s food supplies.

“Our nation’s healthcare system is facing tremendous challenges. Continued innovation is critical if we are to provide the best possible care and achieve improved health outcomes while still keeping healthcare affordable for all Americans,” said HLC President Mary R. Grealy. “We applaud Congressman Coble’s leadership, dedication and commitment in advancing the quality, accessibility and cost-effectiveness of American healthcare.”
