State Rep. Frank Iler was named co-chairman of a newly formed General Assembly committee that will delve into controversial immigration issues in North Carolina. Iler, an Oak Island Republican, and co-chairman Rep. Harry Warren, R-Rowan, met privately Tuesday to discuss the mission of the House Select Committee on the State's Role in Immigration Policy.
