A joint meeting of the Plant Conservation Board and its Scientific Committee to discuss possible changes to American ginseng regulations. The group also will discuss approaches to determining the significance of declines in wild medicinal plants, and hear updates from staff about plant conservation preserve management and related projects. The meeting is open to the public.

The N.C. Plant Conservation Program develops regulations, voluntary programs and cooperative partnerships to help protect imperiled species and their habitats. The program’s responsibilities include the listing of North Carolina’s endangered and threatened plant species and the development of conservation programs designed to permanently protect them. The staff employs a host of methods and procedures to perpetuate native plants and their ecosystems, including the acquisition and management of important plant sites and habitats.
