FSIS is announcing the availability of two issue papers developed during the Sep. 22 and 23 public meeting for the National Advisory Committee on Meat and Poultry Inspection (NACMPI).

A document was prepared by the NACMPI Subcommittee on Pre-Harvest Salmonella in response to the FSIS’ request for input on developing and implementing more effective policies to control the ongoing human foodborne Salmonella exposure to reduce its disease burden on public health.

A second paper, presents subcommittee recommendations on the second draft of its HACCP validation guidance along with a request for innovative ideas the agency can use to convey this information to stakeholders, including FSIS personnel.

Both papers can be found on the FSIS website.
