Change in the Mexico sugar table of the World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates report
Story Date: 11/3/2011

  Source: USDA, 11/1/11

Beginning with the November 9 World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) report, Mexico’s sugar supply and use table (page 16) will show the data in “actual weight.”   Previously, sugar data in the WASDE Mexico table were presented in “raw value.” Reporting actual weight in this table will be consistent with data published by Mexico.

The U.S. sugar supply and use table (also on page 16) will continue to report imports from Mexico in raw value (1.06 x actual weight). The Foreign Agricultural Service will continue to report world sugar supply and use, including for Mexico, in raw value.

The WASDE report is issued monthly at 8:30 a.m. EST by the World Agricultural Outlook Board of USDA’s Office of the Chief Economist. Information on how the WASDE report is prepared can be found at: www.usda.gov/oce/commodity/wasde/.
