Business Briefs: Mistrial declared in W.Va. case of tobacco firms

A trial of more than 600 claims against R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co., Philip Morris USA and Lorillard Inc. ended in a mistrial Tuesday, according to a spokesman for Altria Group Inc., the parent of Philip Morris.
The first part of a two-phase trial of wrongful-death and personal-injury claims by smokers and their families in state court in Wheeling ended less than two weeks after jurors began hearing evidence.
