The National Meat Association (NMA) will be hosting a webinar to assist plant operators in understanding how to effectively conduct critical reviews of FSIS Non-Compliance Records (NRs) and formulate appeals.

NMA Director of Regulatory Issues Norm Robertson will lead the event, scheduled for 9:30 a.m. PST Nov. 30. A former employee of FSIS in field operations for 18 years, Robertson will discuss the agency’s process of implementing the Public Health Information System (PHIS) with the initial phase scheduled to be completed in early 2012.

One of the agency’s primary sources of information for its new system will be day-to-day inspection verification procedures conducted in the plant. As a result, non-compliance will be used to determine where increased inspection activities are scheduled – making the appeals process increasingly important.
The cost to attend is $99 per login to NMA members and $149 for non-members. To register, click here.
