Gov. Perdue names new communications director

Governor Perdue has named Jon Romano, a veteran communications professional as communications director.
Romano, whose mother lives in Knightdale, most recently led communications for Know Your Care, an organization dedicated to educating Americans about preventive services for seniors on Medicare, small business tax credits for business owners and pre-existing condition insurance. Prior to that Romano worked against efforts to privatize Social Security, served as the Chief of Staff for a Boston City Councilor, and served for political organizations in Rhode Island, Florida and New Hampshire.
