Smithfield Foods announced it will host a live Twitter dialogue to bring awareness to issues concerning hunger in America on Dec. 16 at 1:00 EST.
This is the second time in two months Smithfield has used Twitter to broadcast a message about its corporate social responsibility activities. In November, the pork processing giant used Twitter to launch its new corporate social responsibility website.
At this week’s virtual event Executive Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer Dennis Treacy and Sustainability Coordinator Kathleen Kirkham will lead a one-hour discussion about the current state of hunger in America, personal stories about hunger, how both companies and individuals can be involved in solving the problem and the changing landscape of food production.
Questions or personal stories relating to hunger can be submitted ahead of the event via Twitter to @SmithfieldCSR using #SFDHunger.
