The Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan Customs Union (CU) published its meat and poultry tariff rate quota (TRQ) volumes for 2012, lowering those for pork and poultry to Russia, increasing pork and beef for Kazakhstan and leaving rates unchanged for Belarus.

The information was released in a report from USDA’s Foreign Agriculture Service, which noted that all Russian TRQ volumes are subject to change in mid-2012, following Russian WTO Accession.

Changes in CU TRQ total volumes for 2012 included reduced pork access to Russia to 400,000 metric tons from 472,100 metric tons in 2011. Pork trimming access, however, was raised to 30,000 metric tons from 27,900 metric tons. Poultry access was lowered to 330,000 metric tons from 350,000 metric tons.
For Kazakhstan, frozen beef access was raised to 13,900 metric tons from 10,000 and pork access was raised to 9,400 metric tons from 7,400.
