The grocery store chain Earth Fare acknowledged Monday that it dismissed an unspecified number of undocumented workers just before Christmas, one of them a woman living in the U.S since 1999.
Fletcher-based Earth Fare in a Web post called the timing unfortunate but said a company audit left them no choice.
