Judge halts suit against (S.C.) state's immigration law

A federal district judge has temporarily halted a lawsuit that challenged South Carolina’s new immigration law, but he let stand a ruling he made last month that put on hold parts of the law that authorized law enforcement officers to ask suspected illegals for their papers during traffic stops.
