Johnsonville targets foodservice with distribution deal

AdvancePierre Foods and Johnsonville Sausage announced a strategic alliance aimed at expanding the sausage maker’s reach in the foodservice market.


Under the agreement, Cincinnati-based AdvancePierre will become the exclusive foodservice distributor for Johnsonville, based in Sheboygan Falls, Wis. The partnership will make Johnsonville sausage available to more foodservice customers including restaurants, colleges and stadiums nationwide, the two companies said in a statement.


Johnsonville products will be available to AdvancePierre customers beginning in the second quarter of this year.


AdvancePierre makes and distributes packaged sandwiches, fully cooked chicken and beef products, Philly-style steak, stuffed chicken breasts and bakery products. The company employs 4,500 people, with production in Ohio, Oklahoma, Iowa, Maine, and North and South Carolina.
