North Carolina Pork Conference
Thursday, February 2nd - Friday, February 3rd

We have made a slight schedule change in our seminar schedule. The times for the operator in charges seminars on Thursday morning have not changed and are the same as previously announced, however we reworked the schedule to include some exciting new additions to our seminar on trespassing for Thursday afternoon.

Thursday afternoon's seminar: Trespassing - What You Can Do to Protect Your Farm will bring you some timely and important from some folks with a tremendous amount of expertise.

Meet the speakers:

Ernie Leehas worked in the district attorney's office since 1987. He served as an assistant district attorney and chief assistant district attorney during his career. In January 2011, Mr. Lee took office as the newly elected district attorney for Sampson, Duplin, Jones and Onslow counties which make up Judicial District 4.

Sheriff Jimmy Thornton began his career in the criminal justice system in 1974, immediately after college, as a probation officer with the State of North Carolina. His career in the system continued through years and in 2002, he was elected Sheriff of Sampson County.

Sheriff Thornton is no stranger to the agriculture business.  He grew up on the family farm and took over its operation after his father passed away.

Frank Sheffield is leader of the Environmental Practice Group at Ward and Smith, P.A. in New Bern.  He has more than 30 years of experience in environmental matters, including agricultural operations.  Mr. Sheffield's professional career includes state and local government, environmental consulting, and private law practice.  His law practice encompasses federal and state environmental law and regulation, air quality and water quality permitting, compliance counseling, and contaminated property issues.  Mr. Sheffield has advised numerous agricultural operations, from individual farmers to large agribusiness producers, on a range of environmental and regulatory issues.  He also has represented various agricultural clients in court.

As you can see, we have a fantastic lineup of speakers to give you the latest and most accurate information on how to protect your farm and your animals from trespassers. Don't miss this opportunity!
