NCBA names new president, officers

Nebraska cattleman J.D. Alexander has been named 2012 president of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA).

Alexander officially took the reins from Bill Donald, a rancher from Montana, at the group’s annual meeting in Nashville, Tenn.

Scott George (Wyoming) was elected NCBA’s president-elect. Also elected were: Bob McCan (Texas) to vice president; Craig Uden (Nebraska) to federation division chair; Richard Gebhart (Oklahoma) to federation division vice chair; Don Pemberton (Missouri) to policy division chair; and Phil Ellis (Wyoming) to policy division vice chair.

Alexander has served as chairman of the federation division and on numerous NCBA committees. George was previously NCBA vice president. He also has served on the Beef Promotion Operating Committee and as chair and vice chair of the federation division.
