Farmland preservation advisory committee to meet Feb. 14

The Agricultural Development and Farmland Preservation Trust Fund Advisory Committee will meet next week to discuss the 2011 year-end report and set procedures for the next grant cycle, among other agenda items. The committee will meet by conference call, but members of the public can sit in on the meeting at the Agriculture Building. Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler will preside.

The committee advises the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services on the prioritization and allocation of trust funds, the development of criteria for awarding funds, program planning, and other areas for the growth and development of family farms in North Carolina.
