Kirk Sherrill grew up in Iredell County and graduated from South Iredell High school in 1989. After graduating from high school, he worked part time as a carpenter building houses and playing piano at various restaurants while attending Mitchell Community College. Upon completing his education there, he attended East Carolina University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology with a concentration in Construction Management. He also obtained a minor in Business Administration. Before graduating, it was his privilege to be accepted into Sigma Lambda Chi, an honorable fraternity that is devoted to recognizing outstanding student performances and skills.
After graduation, he chose to come back home to his family and friends in Iredell County where he was hired by multiple prominent contractors to assist in building commercial projects in and around Iredell County. Subsequently, Kirk became a North Carolina Licensed commercial General Contractor and formed his own company, Innovative Builders. When he is not building, you may find him at his portrait studio in Mooresville or in his wood shop framing and printing pictures in his studio beside his home.
Kirk has always had a passion for the people in Iredell County. He is a moderate conservative and his prime objective is to promote growth in this sluggish economy where businesses can thrive and our neighbors can prosper.
