Dear Friend of NC State's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences:

As you may already know, the Dean of NC State's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Dr. Johnny Wynne, will be retiring effective July 1, 2012 after a 44+ year career at NC State.

NC State University has created a Dean's Search Nominating Committee, chaired by the College of Engineering Dean, Dr. Louis Martin-Vega. The members of that Committee can be found at: http://provost.ncsu.edu/news/cals-cnr-and-dasa-searches-underway.php

One of the charges of the Nominating Committee is to gather input on what key external stakeholders in the agriculture, agri-business and life science communities need and value in a Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

As one of these key stakeholders, the Nominating Committee would like to invite you to a CALS Dean Search Listening Session that will be held on Tuesday, March 13th from 5pm to 7pm at the NC State University Club (formerly called the NC State Faculty Club) located at 4200 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh, NC 27606. There will be a reception starting at 5pm with light hors d'ourves, followed by a moderated listening session.

The listening session will allow you an opportunity to express to the Nominating Committee the key skills, experience, background and other factors you feel are important for the new Dean to possess. The Nominating Committee is making a crucial decision about the future leadership of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and NC State University and they need your input as one of the College's key stakeholders.

To RSVP for this event, please go to http://go.ncsu.edu/calsdean_listeningsessionto register or call Scott Troutman, CALS Alumni and Friends Society, at (919) 515-7857.

We hope to see you on Tuesday, March 13th as we help determine the new leadership path for NC State's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
