Farm Bill hearing on healthy food initiatives, local production and nutrition

Senator Debbie Stabenow, Chairwoman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, will convene a Committee hearing on Wednesday, March 7 at 9:30 a.m. in room 216 of the Hart Senate Office Building. The hearing, Healthy Food Initiatives, Local Production and Nutrition, will explore innovative opportunities in agriculture through policies that assist the development of local markets for farmers – connecting them to the growing consumer demand for locally-produced, healthy food options. Secretary Tom Vilsack, of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, will testify. Additional witnesses detailed below.
