Senator Debbie Stabenow, Chairwoman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, penned an op-ed published in The Hill today, highlighting how the Farm Bill can both create jobs and reduce the deficit.

Chairwoman Stabenow said that by focusing on streamlining and consolidating programs to make them more efficient, the Senate and House Agriculture Committees have developed a strong foundation for a Farm Bill that cuts $23 billion from the deficit, while still strengthening and improving programs that are critical to the economy and creating jobs.
