EU animal welfare policy

The EU plans to improve training for those handling animals and to promote inspections that focus on animal well-being. Potentially, a network of European reference centers would support research, training, and technical innovation, and make sure that farmers and animal welfare officials are properly trained, informed, and equipped to implement animal welfare legislation.
