Congressman Mel Watt (12th District of North Carolina) will host an informational and matchmaking conference about small business government contracting at the Harris Conference Center at 3210 CPCC Harris Campus Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208 on Monday, April 30, 2012 from 9am – 2pm. This conference will provide small business constituents throughout the 12th Congressional District a unique opportunity to meet and interact with federal, state and local government agencies to learn about and take advantage of contracting opportunities. Representatives of the US Department of Defense, US Department of Treasury, General Services Administration (GSA), City of High Point, NC Department of Health & Human Services, City of Charlotte and other federal, state and local entities are expected to attend.

Congressman Watt said, “Recognizing that small businesses face unique challenges that often prevent them from securing contracts with governmental entities, this conference will provide small business some critical information they need to know to get into and be successful in government contracting and will connect them with agencies that are motivated to establish relationships with local companies.”
