Festival looking for antique tractors and bluegrass bands

Space is still available for antique tractor and farm equipment hobbyists to display their equipment at the Got to Be N.C. Festival at the State Fairgrounds May 18-20.
The display of more than 1,000 tractors and other antique machinery is a highlight of the event, but festival organizers say there’s room for more. Tractors in working order can also participate in the daily tractor parade through the fairgrounds.

Festival organizers also have a few spots left in the Bluegrass Band Competition on Saturday, May 19. Picking-and-plucking-style amateur bluegrass bands are invited to compete for cash prizes and bragging rights. First place takes home $500, second $250 and third $125. Got to Be N.C. Festival organizers expect crowds of up to 100,000 over the three days. In addition to the farm equipment display and bluegrass band competition, a carnival, FiberFest, Food Expo and state barbecue championship cook-off will also be part of the festival. Also taking place on the fairgrounds is the Raleigh Flea Market, a boat show in the Scott Building and events in Dorton Arena and at the Hunt Horse Complex.
