NC ag commissioner looks for solution to aging farming population

The average age of a farmer in North Carolina is now 57.3 years of age, and that age has been steadily creeping up for some time now. In addtion to USDA Deputy Undersecretary Kathleen Merrigan, NC Ag Commissioner is addressing the situation, looking for a ways to recruit young people into the farming and agribusiness industries.
