Congresswoman Renee Ellmers released the following statement from her office in Washington this afternoon:

"I'm honored that the International Foodservice Distributors Association has recognized my work in Congress and the determination to protect the free enterprise system that makes our economy prosper. I will continue to fight for common sense policies that will put America back to work, increase energy production, remove costly regulations that are crippling our small businesses, and balance our budget. I am very grateful for this award and thank IFDA for the work they are doing to protect job creators throughout the country."

International Foodservice Distributors Association (IFDA) Thomas Jefferson Award

The IFDA Thomas Jefferson Awards are presented in conjunction with the IFDA Washington Insight & Advocacy Conference. Since 1992, these awards have been presented at the end of each Congress to honor Members of Congress who have demonstrated their commitment to free enterprise by their voting records on issues such as taxes, free trade, labor policy, and other economic matters. The program also recognizes Senators and Members of Congress for their consistent support of specific industry priorities on issues ranging from the Employee Free Choice Act to permanent Death Tax Repeal. Award recipients have a 70 percent or better voting record on these key issues facing our industry.
