In front of a couple hundred guests attending today’s Greensboro Chamber of Commerce luncheon meeting, a representative of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce presented U.S. Rep. Howard Coble (R-NC) with an award for his outstanding pro-business voting record. Congressman Coble was presented with the prestigious “Spirit of Enterprise” award for his 93% rating in 2011 from the U.S. Chamber.

Robert Purser, Manager, Southeast, Congressional & Public Affairs for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, presented Rep. Coble with his “Spirit of Enterprise” award. Also presenting the award was Deborah Hooper of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce.

Thomas J. Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber said that Congressman Coble was well-deserving of his honor. “While many in Congress were busy playing politics,” Donohue noted, “Representative Coble was working to protect and advance the interests of America’s job creators. America’s beacon of light shines brighter today because of Representative Coble and his efforts.”

Today’s award was made at the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce Biennial Business Connections Marketplace. The meeting occurred at the Airport Marriott Hotel in Greensboro.
