Behind in early polls and with less campaign cash on hand, Democratic Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton amped up his campaign for N.C. governor on Monday by challenging former Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory, his Republican opponent, to eight town hall-style debates at community colleges around the state.
