Several members of N.C.’s congressional delegation, along with 45 other members of Congress, have written U.S. Trade Representative Tom Kirk expressing concern over the antidumping duties Mexico has preliminarily assigned to U.S. chicken leg quarters. The letter signed by U.S. Reps. Renee Ellmers (N.C.-2), Walter B. Jones (N.C.-3), Larry Kissell (N.C.-8), and Mike McIntyre (N.C.-7) says that the economic impact if the duties “go final” will be devastating for U.S. producers. As Trans-Pacific Partnership negotiations continue, they ask that USTR Kirk works to ensure that Mexico honors its commitment under NAFTA and WTO.
