USDA makes first assessment of U.S. soybean crop conditions

USDA rated 65 percent of the U.S. soybean crop in good or excellent condition in the week ended June 3 — its first assessment of the quality of the current soybean crop.

In its weekly Crop Progress report, USDA rated 29 percent of the soybean crop as fair and 6 percent as either poor or very poor.

Corn
USDA rated 72 percent of the U.S. corn crop in good or excellent condition, unchanged from a week ago, though 15 percent of that total was rated excellent, up from 13 percent a week ago.
