The NC Senate is completing it's work on their version of the 2013 budget...and while we were assured at AgDay that funding for NCDA international marketing and Got2BeNC marketing would be included in the Senate version...this has not yet occurred. This is extremely important because the House bill unfortunately overlooked funding these programs this year- so the Senate must include this funding or next year NCDA international marketing and Got2BeNC staff will not have any funds appropriated. 

 

Senator Brent Jackson has been working diligently on this issue to try to get funding included in the Senate budget - but he needs the AgIndustry to STAND UP AND BE HEARD!!  Therefore your assistance is requested.  Please contact the following three Senators immediately and ask them to include funding for NCDA International Marketing and NCDA Got2BeNC marketing.

 

Both of these programs need at least $250,000 each....which is an extremely small amount of money to invest in marketing the state's #1 industry - an industry that contributes $71.6 Billion annually to the state's economy and provides jobs for 638,000 of our state's citizens.  An investment in NCDA international marketing and Got2BeNC marketing is crucial for the AgIndustry to continue to grow - providing economic stability for our economy, money for the state's coffers, not to mention JOBS for North Carolinians. 

 

Every aspect of Agribusiness will be impacted by this investment - which means your operation will be impacted - so please take time today to pick up the phone and call the following three offices - and politely ask the three senators to support NC's #1 industry by investing in Agribusiness  - fund NCDA international marketing with at least $250,000 and Got2BeNC with at least $250,000.
