Officials say a fire early Wednesday at a poultry farm contracted with Butterball was accidental.
Some 7,000 turkeys were killed in the fire, according to local media. The farm has multiple turkey houses; one was destroyed in the blaze.

The fire was reported early in the morning June 13 at Hill Top Farms, an independently-owned poultry barn near La Grange, N.C.

"The La Grange Fire Department responded immediately to the incident, and the fire was extinguished. No employees were injured, and the cause of the fire was ruled as accidental by officials," according to a statement by Butterball that was sent to Meatingplace.
