TODAY: Hagan to cut ribbon on clean energy plant near Raleigh

U.S. Senator Kay R. Hagan (NC) today at 3pm will cut the ribbon on a new clean energy plant that will be the first biodiesel plant of its kind. Hagan will also speak and tour the Piedmont Biofuels facility, which will be capable of creating renewable fuel using enzymatic catalysis.

Biodiesel is a clean-burning renewable fuel derived from fats, oils and greases. Piedmont Biofuels’ enzyme-based process technology opens the door to a world of new feedstocks that have not typically been available for biodiesel fuel production.
