Gov. Perdue releases statement on budget, no mention of veto

On Wednesday, Governor Bev Perdue’s office released a statement on the state’s budget that still awaits her signature. The statement says she invited House Speaker Thom Tillis and Senator Phil Berger to meet with her last Thursday in an effort to reach a bipartisan compromise.
