Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. is preparing to re-enter Charlotte in a major way after a more than four-year absence. The company closed its last Charlotte shop on Woodlawn Road in 2008, although it kept a shop within driving range at 9301 E. Independence Blvd. in Matthews.
