Chairwoman Stabenow announces series of hearings continuing CFTC oversight

Senator Debbie Stabenow, Chairwoman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, will convene a series of two hearings over the next several weeks focusing on the continued implementation of Title VII of the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act as well as continuing to probe the collapse of financial firm MF Global in an effort to strengthen customer protections in futures markets. Below are details surrounding both hearings.

Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act: 2 Years Later

The oversight hearing will focus on the continued implementation of Title VII of the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and will examine its progress nearly two years after the reform was passed by Congress. The Hon. Gary Gensler, Chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and Mr. Robert Cook, Director of the Division of Trading and Markets at the Securities and Exchange Commission, will testify.
